Identifying the New Opportunity
I’ve been running Condoit for nearly five years now, but it all started when I was in the field as an electrician. Back then, I was collecting data at facilities on paper, usually for infrared audits or arc flash analysis. The process was difficult and inefficient and all on paper, which led me to seek better solutions.
Initially we found traction in the world of special projects, niche things like EV charger site feasibility and general break-fix site walks.
In the last year, however, we discovered a much broader application of our technology: The digitization of the electrical data you already have leads to massive new monetization opportunities.
If you’re not taking advantage of it, you’re leaving money on the table.
Here at the beginning of 2025, I thought it was a good time to give you an update on what we've built at Condoit and our vision for the (very near) future of the industry.
The Current State of Data
Today, most electrical data is scattered and barely accessible. In many cases, it lives in fragmented, analog formats such as paper records or static PDFs stored in email inboxes or various digital folders. Even when this information is in digital form, it’s often unstructured— PDF as-builts that are difficult to search and usually out-of-date.
Whether you realize it or now this creates inefficiencies for you and your team. It limits your ability to quickly access the information needed to respond to customer inquiries, manage maintenance schedules, or plan new installations. Furthermore, outdated or incomplete records increase the risk of errors, leading to costly delays, truck re-rolls, and angry customers.
Because you’ve always done business like this does not mean it’s the best way to do things.
Think of the hours and days wasted by the team in a year looking for information and creating reports and proposals. Now think of how people could be using that time if they had it back. Efficiency is not just saving time and money, it’s making that time and money work towards growing your business.
From Silent to Communicative
Most analog or static digital data sits in silence—unusable until someone takes the time to sift through it. But when that data is digitized, it transforms into a dynamic, communicative asset. Digitized data can notify contractors about upcoming maintenance requirements, changes in regulations, or when equipment is nearing the end of its lifecycle.
For example, a single-line diagram that was once a static PDF now becomes a live database. Contractors can receive alerts when a panel reaches capacity or when transformers require maintenance, enabling proactive rather than reactive management. This shift not only improves operational efficiency but also strengthens the contractor’s relationship with their customers by anticipating their needs.
Implementing the Vision
The path to digitization starts by gathering and digitizing your existing data. During the onboarding process, we work closely with your team to securely and efficiently digitize all your single-line diagrams, photos, notes, and details. After we input all the data from your office, your electricians in the field can verify and update the information, ensuring accuracy.
As your team installs or services equipment, they can apply QR codes to track these assets over time. These QR codes link directly to the digital representation of the equipment in the cloud, making the information instantly accessible to anyone with a mobile device.
You can be up and running in a matter of weeks with very little overhead.
Scan the QR code below and put in your email address. It will take you to the Condoit record of a piece of equipment in the field complete with photos, maintenance records and equipment details. What if one of these was on every piece of equipment you're responsible for?
Reaping the Benefits
Once your data is digitized, you’ll realize a significant boost in efficiency. Imagine a customer calls asking how difficult it would be to install an EV charger in their parking lot. Previously, this would involve a site walk and searching through old, probably outdated single-line diagrams. Now it’s a quick search and a glance at the relevant photos and diagrams. You can provide an accurate response in seconds, whether on the phone or via email, complete with all the necessary details to back up your estimate.
Imagine receiving a notification about an upcoming maintenance requirement at a client’s facility. Instead of waiting for equipment to fail or for them to call you, you can go ahead and schedule the service with the facilities folks, ensuring uninterrupted operation. This proactive approach not only enhances customer satisfaction but also opens up new revenue streams through consistent, planned maintenance work.
Empowering Your Customers
With your digital records in Condoit, you can offer your customers unprecedented access to their electrical system information. Instead of handing them printed single-line diagrams or emailing PDFs, you can share a dynamic, living record. This view-only access allows them to see all relevant single-line diagrams, photos, and equipment details at the click of a button.
The facilities team will love you.
Many of our customers are also using Condoit for new construction handoff. Traditionally, at the end of construction, electrical contractors create as-builts to document the actual installation. With Condoit, this process is streamlined into a digital model that serves as an immediate handoff to the maintenance or service department. This allows you to start monetizing the data created in the field immediately, setting you apart as a forward-thinking contractor.
Finally
The digitization of your electrical data is more than just a technological upgrade or a new shiny tool that your guys can use in the field—it’s a business transformation. By turning scattered, silent information into dynamic, actionable insights, you position your company to not only operate more efficiently but also to create lasting relationships with your customers and grow dramatically. **Our current customers are seeing it every day.
But this isn’t just about keeping up. This is about making a decision to lead your company and the industry in a way that will set you apart for a generation.
